tim & kayla

“Webster’s Dictionary defines “wedding” as the fusing of two metals with a hot torch. Well, you know something. I think you guys are two metals. Gold medals.” -Michael Scott The Office

When Kayla and Tim told me what big office fans they were I knew we were going to be lifelong friends!! Kayla and Tim are such a perfect match and a love story that I have loved telling through portraits!! I loved working with both of her sisters for their senior pictures in years previous and now I got to capture Kayla’s love story, what a treat!

It may have been a bit chilly on Saturday but considering the last two years it has snowed on this weekend I counted cold clear skies a big plus!! The girls had a lovely morning getting ready at Kayla’s childhood home and we even got to meet the Noll’s adorable dog!! You’ll see he snuck in on a few portraits! They had a lovely ceremony at their beautiful church, followed by some portraits at Willowbrook Park in Hartford! The park still had lots of beautiful colors in the trees and lots of gorgeous spots that it was hard to stop taking portraits so we could go to dinner!!

Dinner was served at the Shcuer Arts Center which was a great elegant venue to host the remainder of the wedding festivities!! They had the most beautiful sting lights in the reception space and in the museum! Scroll to the end to see the unique shots we were able to create with the lights!

Thank you Kayla and Tim for the honor of capturing your love story! I wish you nothing but life’s greatest happiness!! Congratulations you guys!!

“May we all know that nothing ain't cool 'til you wear the new off The sound of a quarter rollin' down a jukebox……Yeah, you learn to fly and if you can't then you just free-fall. May we all” - Florida Georgia Line

I wish y’all could have been apart of Shawna and Jame’s wedding day on Saturday! Or at the very least I hope you can feel the enormous amount of love they share through these pictures!! Not only did James and Shawna have had to deal with planning a wedding during a pandemic, while buying a house, and building a family, but Shawna also bought James a brand new truck that she surprised him with at the wedding! That woman deserves an award because I would have gone insane! But if it shows anything it shows how committed they are to each other and how they would do anything for those they love!!

After the beautiful ceremony at their hometown church, we headed to the mill where we got to take some of Shawna and Jame’s engagement portraits! James is a firefighter and so one of his buddies drove a truck over for us to get some pictures with which was amazing!! The mill was the most fantastic spot for use to capture some fall color but also capture the cool metal buildings. I would gladly go back and shoot there anytime! The reception was held at the place where Jame and Shawna actually met!! What a great way t bring thier love story around full circle! They decorated the venue to the nine and it looked amazing!! Capturing dancing photos under those lights was just fantastic!

Wherever life takes you James and Shawna I know you will accomplish many great things together! Congratulations on your marriage and thank you for the honor of being your photographer, Saturday was THE BEST!!
