“This much I know is true, that God blessed the broken road, that led me straight to you.” -Rascal Flatts

On Saturday I got to witness one of the sweetest intimate weddings. It was even more special because it was for my dear friend Katie. I was so honored to capture the love that Katie and Jake share and to see how much they really care for each other.

The day started at Entourage Salon where the hair and makeup turned out so beautiful! We then headed to the venue, Whispering Orchard, to finish getting ready as the snow started to lightly fall outside! The ceremony was officiated by Katie’s Uncle and as he started to tear up I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room! Short and sweet and to the point, it was truly a lovely ceremony. Following the ceremony, we took a few portraits outside around the orchard before our fingers froze! We ended the day enjoying mingling and sharing a lovely dinner in the company of those closest to Katie and Jake!

Congratulations Katie and Jake and thank you so much for asking me to capture just a fraction of the love and happiness that the two of you share!

“And I have to speculate that God Himself did make us into corresponding shapes, like puzzle pieces from the clay.” - Iron & Wine

What a way to end a season! It’s always a bittersweet ending when the wedding season comes to a close and Derrick and Alex made it especially so! I remember when I met with them for the first time I could tell that there was something special about them. The way they looked at each other, the way they laughed and supported each other, it was all so magical. I was beyond honored when they choose me as their photographer because I knew I was about to be a part of something amazing!

Saturday’s ceremony took place at the Green Bay Botanical Gardens. It is also where we did the first look and some of the bridal party portraits! During the first look, Derrick turned around he uttered the sweetest sentiment, “Wow", just wow, you look amazing”. He proceeded to utter this serval more times throughout the whole day. He was totally enamored with his bride and likewise, Alex was enamored with her groom. During the ceremony, Alex and Derrick wrote their own vows and both of them poured their heart into the words they shared. So many touching moments.

After the ceremony, we headed to Lambeau Field where the reception would take place, but first, we had to make a picture stop at Kwik Trip to get a stereotypical picture with everyone’s favorite gas station!
Getting to photograph some portraits in the Packer’s Stadium and celebrate this amazing couple in the most fantastic setting really was quite the honor and a memory that I will forever cherish!

Alex and Derrick thank you so much for letting us capture your wedding day and show the world how much love you two share for each other and for your family and your friends. I will forever remember your wedding day! Congratulations!!
